Tools that Artists Use

In 2023 artist tools can be difficult to find, especially if you are a new artist. Here are some of the most popular online and traditional artist favorite tools.
Artist tools can be difficult to find if you are a new artist and sometimes even veteran artists need help finding tools that meet their needs.
Some artists, especially new ones, are sometimes very eager to get all the new and best art supplies to offer. Maybe spending hundreds of dollars even to get top-of-the-class quality tools. A misconception many people have is that the tools are going to make the art look good, many times leading to people not putting in much effort and eventually giving up very quickly. Artistry is about consistency, ideas and formulating nothing into something. The tools do not make the artist good, the artist makes the tools work for them. It is a good reminder to not just expect your art to come out the way you want it to first try it takes many attempts which is a hard concept to accept, even for the best of artists. Accepting your work is not going to be exactly as you pictured is the first step to creativity and growth.
“Tools I recommend to new artists, always paper and pencil,” says art teacher Mrs. O’Niell.
Start with a pencil and paper and try creating something. Once you realize how subtle changes better utensils will make your art, that is when it is time to make an upgrade. Many artists agree with this.
“Charcoal and pencil are good to use when you first start,” said Aubriella Synder as well.
Alex Gibson also stated, “You can use anything to create art… it is all about what the individual person prefers.”
Now if artists are wondering what tools are best for advanced artists, really the same applies. However, if people are looking for a more straightforward answer a ton of popular artist tools are brands such as Adobe, Procreate, Paintshop Pro, VR tools, Canson, Micron or the Too Corporation- mostly known for their copic alcohol markers. It all comes down to what works best for the artist. People can buy every different type of tool, or search for every different type of company for the best kind of tools. Most professional artists come to find that the best artist tools can sometimes be things they did not expect that they would like.
