Eras Tour Outfits to Make the Whole Place Shimmer

Throughout the summer of 2023, Northwest students traveled to stadiums nationwide for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, displaying outfits that ‘make the whole place shimmer.’

Three Northwest students shared their in-depth story behind their outfits. They discussed everything from what era their outfits were inspired by to where they bought their ensemble to their own concert experiences. Whether you are looking for inspiration for your future show or you are just a Taylor Swift enthusiast, there is something for everyone in these photo features.

Paige Olson, a senior, got to show off two different outfits for the Eras Tour. First in Kansas City, and then again in Los Angeles. 

“The first night I went my whole group decided to go as Lover,” Olson said. She represented this era with a pink heart-shaped top, a white skirt, and heart-shaped jewels around her eye. For Los Angeles, Olson switched it up with a red corset top and new shoes. 

“These boots, I found [them] for like five bucks. [I] thrifted them, I was really excited,” she revealed. “It was a really crazy experience,” Olson reflected, “Trading bracelets, complimenting each other. It was just such an empowering environment, and that was really cool.”

Junior Karsyn Harms dressed herself as a mirrorball for her night one show in Minneapolis. Though her favorite era is Reputation or Red, her outfit represented the Folklore album – specifically the song “Mirrorball.” 

“I wanted my stepsisters, my mom, and me to be [dressed as] different eras,” she remarked. 

“I wanted my outfit to be something I would remember, and not something simple,” Harms said. Her silver shimmery dress was from Whitefox, and she got her boots from Amazon. For inspiration, she watched TikToks of other swiftie’s tour outfits and got ideas from them. 

“It was definitely one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen,” she said. “I loved seeing everyone’s outfits and wish I could experience it again one day.”

Leah Norton, a sophomore, paid homage to the Speak Now era in Kansas City.

“After knowing that Speak Now Taylor’s Version was coming out the day of my concert, I knew I wanted to wear a purple dress,” Norton reflected. She paired her purple Shein dress with white cowboy boots that she borrowed from her friend. 

“It was like country, but purple too,” she said. Norton’s highlights from the concert include getting to dress as her favorite era, hearing the song “Long Live” live for the first time, and seeing Taylor Lautner do a backflip. 

“It was just the best concert I’ve ever been to,” Norton concludes.

Though Taylor Swift has moved on from the US leg of her world tour, these three outfits can be used as inspiration for any Northwest student. No matter if you are planning on catching Swift internationally, next year or if you are just a self-proclaimed swiftie, these outfits are sure to leave you enchanted.
